what is EPG?
EPG (Electronic Program Guide) for thousands of TV channels collected from different sources. You normally find the EPG by pressing a button, such as ‘Guide’, on your TV/Set-top box remote control.
EPG functionality differs slightly depending on what platform you use (Freeview, Freesat, Sky, etc.). Most allow you to see what programmes will be available for up to a week in advance. Some offer additional functionality, like the ability to see what programmes have been on in the previous week and then watch them using on-demand players.
How do I access EPG?
You can access the Freeview EPG by pressing the EPG or GUIDE button on your remote control. Tip! If you have a product with Freeview On Demand, pressing the EPG or GUIDE button would display a TV schedule supplied by the manufacturer (the native EPG rather than the Freeview Guide).
EPG can always be obtained by using a remote control for your IPTV device or TV. The menus are presented that enables the end user to inspect a list of TV programs listed for the upcoming hours up to the following seven days. A standard EPG combines options to establish parental controls, purchase pay-per-view contents, explore the programs based on subject or category, and also adjust a recording device to record the programs based on a specific time. All digital television providers propose their own unique user interface and data for their EPG.
